Distractions

Have you ever tried sitting in ONE place and focus on ONE thing? Well for me it's almost impossible. As a senior I have spent the past four years of college trying to avoid distractions and I have decided that avoiding distractions is my new distraction. I am constantly finding ways to avoid writing papers, studying for tests, and dealing with family/friends. I even created a blog [which I never thought I would do] in order to avoid the paper that will essentially be the death of me. I have been working on a paper about the flu [of all things] for the past few days and I feel as though I will never finish. The days have become shorter and the time for this paper to be due is drawing near. I know what you're thinking...Whitney, a paper? Really? That's what you want to talk/complain about? Why yes, yes it is! I have realized that papers and tests are the only form of torture teachers have nowadays because we have banned physical punishment. As of right now, I would much rather have a teacher smack me with a ruler than have to write this paper. It's sad when something as small as a paper can bring you to a point in your life where you would rather suffer from physical abuse than write. That's what my life has come down to...it's pathetic. Simply pathetic.

I know I am not the only college student who suffers from the so called "torture" teachers love so much! Everyone has to deal with this bullshit for four years regardless of their major/minor. I know this seems more of a rant and a cry for someone to care and for someone to come rescue me but it's really a big sign that says PAPERS SUCK!!! I think if there was one thing that is weighing heavily on my heart right now [besides spring break plans] is the fact that I have to finish this paper by NOON tomorrow! I feel as though I am punishing myself with all of these distractions:
*Facebook
*Pandora
*My cell phone/Texts
*Making Spring Break Plans
*Talking [the big killer]
*Not knowing what to write
*Twitter
*Creating a BLOG
*Christmas Break
*What I have to study for finals
*Cleaning my room
*Cleaning my car
If I had anymore distractions in my life I don't think I could handle it. I'm only ONE person and I only need ONE thing to focus on at a time.

I feel like the word ONE is a growing trend in this post. I feel as though I am constantly going back to that ONE word [there it is again!]. Well here's what I think about that:

Christi says it best...and since I'm complaining this is perfect! I must leave with ONE last thing from ONE of my favorite artists

ONE LOVE!
